Consoles run Bedrock with a controller and a television. The purchase lives on the PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo account you used, and updates come from that console's store.
What console play is good at
- A controller layout that does not cover the picture.
- Local co-op on systems that advertise split-screen or shared-screen play. Check your console's listing, because the details differ.
- Cross-play with other Bedrock players, including phones, when the accounts allow multiplayer.
- The same Wilderness Bound content as other Bedrock devices once the console store approves the patch.
Install
- Open the console store and search for Minecraft.
- Buy the edition from Mojang's listing, not a currency bundle that pretends to be the game.
- Sign in to a Microsoft account inside Minecraft if you want cross-play or the Marketplace.
- Install updates before you start a world you plan to keep.
A console copy does not automatically install the Android or iOS app. Those are separate store purchases unless a current offer says otherwise.
