Minecraft on iPhone and iPad

Get the official Minecraft app on iOS from the App Store, sign in, and keep the game updated.

iPhone and iPad run Bedrock through the App Store. There is no APK equivalent and no legitimate reason to look for one. Apple installs the Mojang build, and updates arrive with your other apps.

Install

  1. Open the App Store and search for Minecraft.
  2. Choose the app from Mojang.
  3. Install with the Apple ID that should own it.
  4. Launch the game and sign in with Microsoft.
  5. Create a world or join a Bedrock friend.

If it will not launch

The Bedrock 26.52 hotfix, posted on 25 September 2026, fixed a bug that stopped the game opening on some iPhones. Update in the App Store before you delete the app. Deleting without a backup can take local worlds with it if they were not synced.

  • iPad has more room for the touch layout and is the kinder of the two screens.
  • A controller pairs in iOS settings and is picked up by the game.
  • Family Sharing follows Apple's rules for the purchase, which are separate from a Microsoft child account.
